Two currencies, one law: coins come from work, and gems never make you stronger.

Your base. The mine pays coins, the Market sells your goods, habitats collect tips from touring keepers, boulders crack open for pocket money, and the Keep accrues offline earnings. Battles pay XP and eggs — not gold. That split is deliberate: your army and your economy are two different projects, and neither can substitute for the other. A keeper with a magnificent champion and no mine is rich in exactly one currency.

Three free faucets: the daily log-in gem, gem ads, and the 💎 Gem Mine, which makes one gem a day and halts until you collect it. Gems buy skipped timers, cosmetics, and Mythlings+ — gems never make you stronger in a fight. There is no bought power anywhere in the Hollow; the studio treats that as a design law, not a slogan, and the combat engine is checksummed to keep everyone honest.
When a coin price can be paid in gems, the rate is the same everywhere: one gem stands in for 200 coins. No hidden better deal in one menu than another, no arbitrage homework — if you are short on coins and long on gems, the substitution button prices itself and always asks before a big spend.
Every egg can be sold for gold — tap the egg, or use the Market’s Sell tab. Sell as many as you like, whenever you like; the hatchery’s overflow is a legitimate income stream. The 🏪 Market restocks daily, trades seeds, and pays a little better per level. And your first six wins each day pay full battle rewards — after the sixth, egg and chest drops shrink until tomorrow, though XP never does. The bounty is why a short daily session is worth more than the same minutes once a week, without ever punishing the week away.
The line the Hollow will not cross: no purchase makes you stronger in a fight. Not gems, not the Mythlings+ pass — whose fifty tiers are earned by playing and paid for only in convenience and looks — not anything in any shop. The combat engine itself is checksummed in the codebase so that no update can quietly bend that promise. What money buys is time and style: a skipped timer, a rushed infirmary bed, a second Builder, a magnificent statue. The keeper who beat you did it with a better-raised Mythling and a better-timed block, every single time. That is the whole point.
The mine, the market, and the tips add up faster than you think.
