Wild eggs are luck. Breeding is a plan.

The 💞 Breeding Pen pairs a ♂ and a ♀ into a new egg. Better parents make better clutches. Parents rest afterward, and a pen holds one clutch at a time — the rhythm of a breeding program is patience punctuated by hatch-day. Upgrading your breedery shortens the rest (up to 60% off at the top of the ladder) and raises the odds of a rarity jump, where the egg comes out a tier above its parents’ average.

The rule that makes bloodlines possible: each stat comes from ONE parent, fifty-fifty, with a small mutation wobble — never blended, never averaged toward the middle. Pair two spiked parents and a lucky egg can inherit both spikes, which is how a chosen line piles nearly everything into one or two stats and sails past the ⚡150 mark. Wild eggs can never be steered like that; every one is a fresh roll of every die at once.
The child’s base rarity meets in the middle of its parents’. From there, a pair of Rares jumps a tier on about 22% of clutches; Epic pairs reach Legendary on about 11% — the top tiers are deliberately gated at half and a quarter of the usual odds, and Mythic bloodlines answer only to seasoned keepers. A lone Mythic parent cannot stamp out Mythic children with any partner: ascending is earned generation by generation, and the Breeding Pen’s own level adds to the odds as it grows.
Matching traits always pass on. If both parents carry the trait you want, the egg carries it too — guaranteed, every time, and no mutation ever breaks a pure pair. Two raven parents always make a raven child. Rare coats work the same way in spirit: wild eggs only rarely roll a special coat, but breeding locks a coat into a line, so the look you chased once becomes the look your bloodline simply has. Every line also carries a crest — hashed from its founding pair and inherited forever — so the dynasty you started in week one is still legible in year one.
Fresh hatches toddle to the Meadow Pen, free beside your Nursery, until they grow up — newborn to baby to adolescent to adult, with ears, tails, and feet visibly growing in along the way. Only adults fight or work; childhood is for being adorable in the pen. Then they are yours to field, put to work, or pair into the next generation.
